Background History: Native to South Africa, Asia and Australia. The Starflower grows naturally in arid coastal dunes, wooded grasslands, shaded forests and rocky habitats. Commonly in all areas of southern Florida and Califonia.

Features: The Starflower is an evergreen, shrub or small tree which can reach 6-10 feet in height. The leaves are alternate and deep green with fine toothed edges. Surface and underside of leaves are slightly hairy. The bark is almost a blackish brown and is slow to develope thick trunk. Can bloom year round with plenty of sunlight.
Soil Requirements: Well draining soil
Lighting: Full sun promotes the best growth and heaviest blooms. This plant can be grown in both sunny and shaded locations.
Water Requirements: The Starflower likes plenty of water but does not like wet feet
Temperature requirements: Protect below 40 degrees F.
